Mountjoy House

The client aspired to create a modern, energy-efficient home that responds to local built character. The linear, narrow plan features stepped and punctuated gable elevations to break down the massing. A natural-stone plinth grounds the building, contrasted by a lighter upper floor with large openings framing key views.

The master-suite gable is eroded to form a cantilevered corner addressing distant views of Lough Neagh. The stone walls extend beyond the building to direct sightlines and enhance privacy. The kitchen sits at the heart of the plan, with adjacent spaces radiating around it.

The house sits quietly within its landscaped gardens as a refined, contemporary interpretation of traditional forms.
